Demonstration Brew

Postby Imakewort » Sun Aug 03, 2008 9:50 am

Who is up for another demonstration club brew at Marcello's? Ideas on what to brew all grain, extract or both and what type of beer. who's equipment to use? Also we could have something on tap for the public to drink, since the Gulf brew we would get a pretty good turn out and I am sure newspaper and TV coverage, and we could sell t shirts or what ever to help out the club.

I think extract is always good for reaching out to the public. First-time or tentative brewers might be a little intimidated by an all-grain brew. I think we should stick with a kit, preferably something appropriate to the season.

Let me know when and what to bring, I'm there.
My sculpture will be done by the end of the month, I'd be happy to brew on it at marcello's but it is not gonna fit in my truck.
Hopefully by the first of 09 i'll have my tundra and it won't be a problem.

I think a full-blown brew sculpture is a bit much for an extract brew. Besides, the usual thing for these brews is to show how easy it is to get started. A minimum of equipment tends to be more inviting for newbies.
As usual, I can bring my caveman brewing equipment if needed.

I agree that an extract brew would be good for noobs but we need to remember the intermediate club members as well.

I was able to participate in 3 all-grain club brews before I made the jump my self.

Just my $ .02

Prost

That's cool, but I always thought a demonstration brew was about getting noobs to join up, or at least start brewing. All-grain is fine with me too, but I thought of that as more of a club brew situation as opposed to a demonstration brew. Besides, club members are frequently invited to brew with the more advanced brewers, like you.

Both is even better. Twice as good as one.
