Pitty me. I'm stuck in beer hell!

Postby yeastmeister » Wed Jul 30, 2008 9:15 am

I'm stuck for the week in the apparent beer wastland of the world. Naples, FL. I've asked all the locals, googled everywhere, and tried many places. There are apparently zero decent bars here, no brewpubs, and not even a homebrew club as near as I can tell. The prices are horrible, I've been charged as much as 6 bucks for a sam adams at one bar here. I have yet to stumble across a barley wine at any establishment.

Arrrggghhh!!! At least the view is pretty from my hotel room balcony.

Anyone got any suggestions? Good thing I am coming back on Friday.

Next time pack a three-gallon keg, and a few bottles of La Fin Du Monde. I'm given to understand the best beers are difficult to find even in Belgium.

Just a quick online search shows: English Pub 2408 Linwood Avenue, Boston Beer Garden 2936 Immokalee Road, and maybe a winery: Vintners Cellar of Naples LLC 4910 Tamiami Trail North. Of course these may not exist any more...There's always Bennigans I guess.

Excuse me? Who in their right mind buys water imported from the South Pacific? Anyway, the view is always better when relaxing with a brew.
