HBC342 Experimental Hops

Postby GuitarLord5000 » Tue Nov 01, 2011 5:48 pm

Hey Guys,

I'm on the MKOB mailing list, and received this today. Thought it might be of interest to some of you folks:

Subject: HBC342 experimental hop

This will be your ONLY chance to try Hop Union's Experimental hop HBC342 until 2013. Only about 1,000 pounds were harvested, and less than 200 pounds have been reserved for homebrewers. The only way to get this hop is in Brewer's Best Hop Nog 2011 IPA kit. This is an extract and specialty grain IPA that has 3 ounces of HBC342 (Whole Leaf) plus you will also receive a special edition growler. Only 1,000 of the kits will be made, and I have 18 of them coming – which are the only kits that will be shipping to Louisiana. The kits are $49.99 plus tax and must be pre-paid by cash or credit card. If you are interested, contact me right away by email or phone. I expect these to be sold out by the end of the week – and I am not even open yet. (I already have 6 of the 18 sold to friends in Oregon).

Here is the brew schedule for the 2011 Hop Nog kit:

Hop Nog 2011

2011 marks the end of NASA's historic 30-year Space Shuttle program. Five orbiters conducted thousands of experiments onboard 135 missions into space. HopNog 2011 celebrates innovation through experimentation. This year's IPA offers, for the first time, experimental hop HBC 342. HopNog 2011 offers 3 oz. of whole leaf HBC 342 for brewers to come up with their own flavoring and aroma additions-creating an IPA experiment like none ever conducted before. FREE PRINTED GROWLER WITH EACH KIT PURCHASED.

I've seen these kits advertised already. If you really want a kit, some of the online folks have them too. Seems a bit pricey to me though for a five-gallon kit.
