Cheap kettle?

Postby aleguy » Thu Oct 27, 2011 12:37 pm

I was searching for something else when i came across this kettle. I haven't priced kettles in a long, long time, but the price seemed pretty good to me. I can't be any thinner than a Blichmann, can it?

Be aware that Bayou Classics website says that the 62 quart and below are Steamer pots, and have dimples on the bottom to keep the basket off the bottom, even if you order one without a basket. You need to go higher to get rid of the dimples.

I was not aware of that. Would the dimples be a problem? I know at least one brewer who uses a keg with ribs in the bottom without any apparent problems.
