Hops What's in your freezer

Postby redtail28 » Tue Nov 06, 2007 9:25 am

I'm sure ever one's heard about the hops shortage. I went to several
Online sites and most everything is out of stock. I did manage to place a
Couple of orders 1 from Austin homebrew I pick up
7 oz Cascade
5 oz Tettnang
8 oz Sterling
5 oz Spalt
3 oz Warrior
3 oz Magnum
11 oz Willamette
5 oz First Gold
3 oz of what Austin Homebrew calls Hop suey? % Alpha acid
They said " Hops when you just want to make beer"
Guess I'll make Amber ale with them. They where cheap .59 cents and oz
Then a second order from Keystone Homebrew I haven’t received that order yet.

Let's make beer!!

I pretty much have enough stocked up to keep me going all of 2008. Maybe my homegrown hops will be at decent production levels by then.

How long do hops last in the freezer?

As long as they are sealed in their original packets, or vacuum sealed, they should last several years.
