I've been using v1.4 for a good while now, and I like it quite a bit. I was on the fence about getting BS2, but I went ahead and bought it anyway because I figured that 1.4 is now going to be essentially obsolete with no more updates. I've been playing with the program for a couple days now. What do you guys think about it?
Honestly, at this point, I'm very much less than thrilled. It seems to me like BS2 is essentially the same program, with a small handful of 'updates', with a sleeker looking yet more bug ridden interface. About the only thing that I have to say really good about is so far is that it now has Mac support, which didn't really affect me before anyway.
So far I've lost a recipe that I was building (I pressed the OK button. It was there for a few seconds. Then GONE) and a few items that I added to the Miscellaneous list. Just gone. Disappeared into the ether. Also, there's an issue with the strike water code if, like me, you prefer to add a specific volume of water to the mash tun, and not go by the liquor to grist ratio.
As of now, BS2 looks like a bunch of BS to me. <--small joke
