Brewing June 25, 2011

Postby jimmiec » Tue Jun 21, 2011 3:57 pm

I'm going to be brewing this Saturday (June 25) and working on the brew stand plumbing. Hopefully the weather will be nice and have some nice cool weather. I'll be starting around 1030 AM. Anyone is welcome, just PM me for address.

Maybe we can do some bbq chicken or something. It's been about 3 months since I have had any bbq.

So what're you going to be brewing?

I'm not sure. I made a Kolsch last time so I need something darker which can age while I'm on vacation. I'm thinking an American Brown Ale (like turbo dog), Porter, or an Alt. Maybe I'll go an Alt with a repitch of the Kolsch yeast. However, I really need a porter.

Post the recipe when you figure out what you're brewing. An Alt sounds delicious. Of course, if you need a porter....

Mmmmm! That sounds tasty!
I probably won't be back home before you brew, but good luck with it anyway. It sounds like a delicious beer!

Out of curiosity (off topic), how's your Oud Bruin coming along?

It's still sitting in the carboy. I have not had a chance to taste it yet, maybe this weekend.

Guitarlord5000, it went pretty good I think. The carboys are sitting at 60f and starting to ferment. Gravity was a little high, 1.056 but it is alright with me. Wish you could have made and we could have drank some sour beers.

It turned out to be a pretty warm day. I'll be staying indoor today.
