Hello from Cenla

Postby S. Parks » Tue Jun 14, 2011 3:53 pm

Hello everyone, my name is Steve Parks and Ii am one of the co-founders LA's latest home brew club, Shade Tree Beer Brewers of Central Louisiana. I met a few of you at last year's Gulf Brew, and had a chance to taste a few of your delicious beers. We are small in numbers, but are starting to get a few passionate brewers together on a regular basis. I hope to forge a relationship with the Dead Yeast, and collaborate with you on growing our hobby within the state.

Networking? We LIKE networking! ;-)
You may find many useful links and other information on our main forum. Feel free to ask us anything beer related.
WARNING: We are a tech-heavy club. There are more RIMS per member in our club than anywhere else on the planet. We have refined the build process to the point where we have the most awesome systems anywhere, and can build custom setups to meet any need. 1BR apartment? No problem. We have a RIMS for that! Big house in the country? We have a RIMS for that too! On a tight budget? We EVEN have a RIMS for that!

Hiyo Steve!
It's good news to hear about a new Louisiana beer club. Keep us posted on STBB's development. Where are you guys based out of? Are you planning on developing a website and forum?

Dave

We like the tech rigs here in Cenla. We have two PID controlled RIMS systems. I am in the process of putting a BCS 460 controlled, mostly automated RIMS system. I hope the build will be complete in the next month or so. I tried to post some Pics on here, but not having much luck. I think my file images are too big. you can see that at our club face book page though. :D

Definitely time to host a home brew party. Just let us know when. We only have about 6 members so far, with only two of us that participate religiously. You have to start somewhere though.

Sounds like it'd be great fun, and I'd love to go someday! Alas, not this year, though. One day my schedule won't be quite so full up, and I'll be able to do all those fun things. Prolly won't even be able to make Gulf Brew this year.

Are you going?
