I want to do a wet hop beer
I've already picked my first harvest of Cascade this year and got quite a haul.
Are any of you growing Chinook and want to share a batch, I'm looking at trying this recipe http://sonomabeerocrats.org/art/hoptime.pdf
The hops I've picked so far have been frozen. Both Charlie Papazian and Vinne Chilurzo(of Russian River) have said that fresh hops can be frozen and used later.
The next time I harvest I'd like to brew this up, it'll probably be in a month - 6 weeks, if nobody wants in I'll probably cut it down to 5 gals. and use all cascade, or bitter w/ chinook pellets

Hmm. Sounds interesting. I doubt if you would notice much difference between fresh and dried hops for bittering, but in the flavor additions, well, maybe. Anyway, if your going to used pelletized hops for your bittering addition, it's probably a good idea to do the IBU calculations again as your utilization will be much higher with pellet hops than whole. (See Ray Daniel's "Designing Great Beers" for more info and formulas to determine IBUs and utilization)
Good luck with the fresh hopping, it sounds like it could be amazing.
