Now at Marcello's is another of Stone Brewing's awesome offerings: Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale. The Stygian blackness promises roasty coffee flavors, but the first sip unveils something entirely different. Caramel and molasses with a hint of fruity yeast esters. The generous malt sweetness is balanced by an absolutely clean hop bitterness and finishes with an in-your-face citrusy hop flavor blast. At a sessionable 8.6% ABV, you can enjoy a few bottles in front of that roaring fire while you contemplate your next brew session. The back label does not disappoint either.
Cascadian Dark Ale the way I would brew it myself. (Maybe.)
