Bulk Grain Buy - Spring 2010 edition

Postby yeastmeister » Tue Apr 27, 2010 9:59 am

Redstick has once again asked us if we need any bulk grains....

Catalog is here:
http://www.countrymaltgroup.com/pricing/MC_SalesBook.pdf

They have about 1/2 the pallet available to fill.

Anyone need anything?

If y'all have room when DYS gets their orders in let me know. Some of the Monsters might like to chip in, and I'm good for at least 2 sacks.

1 sack of GP-RWWHT Unmalted Wheat (55# @ $0.41 = $22.55)
1 sack of TF-PRL Pearl (55# @ $0.69 = $37.95)
1 sack of TF-MOPA Marris Otter (55# @ $0.71 = $39.05)

I could use a couple sacks:

BZ-PILS Best Malz Pilzen (55# @ $.53/LB = $29.15)
BZ-DMUN Best Malz Dark Munich (55# @ $.56/LB = $30.80)

jimmiec - I don't really need any white wheat malt, but if you'd like, I can go in half with you for a sack of unmalted wheat.

Cheers,
Dave

Sounds good GuitarLord5000. I edited my order to reflect the unmalted wheat that we can split.

Fortunately, I don't need any more grain at the moment, but Jimmie, I urge you to change your Maris Otter from Baird's to Thomas Faucett and sons. I bought some bairds malt on the last buy because they were out of Pearl, and I have been very unhappy with the quality from that maltster. TF has never let me down. Just sayin'.

+1

I like TF&S Marris Otter and I've heard good things about Crisp too. I ordered some Crisp Marris Otter from High Gravity, and was disagreeably surprised when they substituted Bairds. It did not come up to TF&S quality IMHO.

I'm taking 2 sacks. Trip - Do you want any? We need to finalize the order this week.

Without Trip, we are up to 15 sacks (including the 2 sacks that Charlie wants). Redstick is up to 14 sacks. That puts us at 29 sacks total as of today.

Pallet holds 40 sacks, so there is plenty of room still left for Trip, or MMMM, or anyone else that needs to add a sack or 2.

Lets get this finalized in a couple of days.... Charlie - start asking around your club, Redstick would love to fill the pallet, better pricing for all.

Ok guys, that puts us at 38 sacks. The limit is 40 sacks. I was contacted yesterday by eMan who indicated he needed me to activate his account on the board so that he could post he wants something.

eMan - 2 sacks left....let us know if the order is closed, or if we still have space left. Since you called, I'm giving you first dibs for a day or so.

If eMan doesn't need any grain I'd like to place the following order to make us an even 40 sacks:
1 sack of BZ-SMOK (Best Smoked Malt)
1 sack of TF-PEAT Peated Malt (Phenol 10-14)

What can I say ... I love smoked beer!!!
