Safale S-04

Postby jimmiec » Sun Feb 21, 2010 6:27 pm

I'm very surprised at how high of a krausen this yeast is producing. It blew the lock off in less than 24 hours. Got a blow off tube on it now.

Has any one used the Safale S-33? I want to make a Triple Karmeliet here soon but need a Belgian yeast. Should I order it or a liquid yeast?

The safale Belgian is the s54 (I think,) in the purple package. The 33 is a lager yeast I believe. In any case yeasty should be able to ramp you up a starter given a weeks notice or so. I believe we currently have several good Belgian strains in the club yeast bank.
