Thanks to Redtail for having us over and serving up some really good sausage. I think this makes Redtail the first official HERMS system in the club. I learned quite a few things as well.

Been thinking about my brew system all day. Trying to think
Of ways to make it better. I’m sure it's a never-ending project!
I believe my whole problem was a stuck ss braid hose.
A false bottom sitting above the drain or grant should
Fix that problem. But with a grant to me you would lose
heat unless it's insulated or heated some how. :?:

Hmmm....I never had problems with the stainless braid in my igloo cooler mashtun. That stuff has a lot of surface area. I did have problems with my procedure however....

My guess is that somehow you were draining the tun too fast. How fast changes every time depending on whats in the tun, and how fine you crushed it. Once the bed compacts, nothing is going to help drain. Stir it up, and start over again but slower.

I'd try that before changing anything.

Not entirely never ending. Eventually, your going to buy every possible option available for sale. Then you'll be done. Could take a while....
