Dixie Cup XXVII

To ship entries to the Dixie Cup, the info on their website suggests using a cardboard Malt Case. Is this any bigger or smaller or stronger than any other beer case? They also suggest double boxing. I didn't really follow the instructions very well, as I could not tell if the Malt Case was ment to be the inner or the outer box.

I didn't make the August club meeting so I don't know what is on the agenda for September. But I was wondering would it be possible to have a short instructional session on how to fill out the registration forms for the Dixie Cup. (i.e. Labels, Recipes & Style Category). The style category is my major concern. If the club meeting is not the appropriate venue for this, could I meet after the meeting at Pete's for some one on one help?

Thanks,
Bob

Would be a good instructional demo, even through I think there will be people taking beer over to the event so no need to ship.

Yep, we will add it to the agenda. FYI in the past, we have enough members driving through Houston that we try and set a date and drive the entries over as a bulk batch. That eliminates the possibility of things getting "lost" in the mail.

Plus it keeps the beers fresher. They don't have to sit in a hot warehouse or in a hot truck bouncing around all day. This is the best way to get your beers to any competition, if it is close enough.

I agree, we don't have enough didactics on the various aspects of competitive brewing. BTW could someone post a link to the Strange brew page, please? I'm thinking on a recipe for curried cuttlefish ale and candied mouse and celery beer. But I would like to know what other ingredients I have to work with.
