Maybe. :) They say one thing for sacks, then another thing for total weight. Won't really know till we try to place the order, but I'm erring on the side of caution.

Hey aleguy,

Just curious what about the malt made you unhappy? I also purchased some Bairds MO from the last grain buy, and I'm reasonable happy with the quality. My malt definitely has a bread-y quality, reminiscent of biscuit malt. From what I understand, this is what I should expect from a floor malted MO malt? I'm guessing that either your malt doesn't have this flavor, or that it is somehow lacking when compared to MO from other maltsters? This is the first time I've used Maris Otter, so I'm just wondering if I'm missing something.

It's not their Maris Otter that I'm unhappy with. It's their Pale Ale malt. Though I wouldn't risk their MO either after this. Baird's PA is lifeless and gray. It has no malt aroma or flavor when brewed, when compared to TF's Pearl malt. I might as well have bought Canadian 2-row. Even that has more flavor.

Ok guys, sorry for this format, but I'm still down in Venice, and I don't have my email setup right on the work laptops here. The grain is ordered, and is expected to be in Baton Rouge by Monday or Tuesday. That means we can pick it up any time after it arrives. We will see what the weather does, and if anyone wants to take a ride, we can use some help loading up 1400+ lbs of grain on and off the trailer.

I need to collect cash from everyone before then because I need to bring cash to the Redstick crew as usual.

We filled the pallet, so the shipping cost came out to $4.68 per sack. If you need it broken down, or its not what you expected, send me an email, and I will send you the details I have.

What day and time are you planning to go get the grain. Keith and I can come help if it's after 2:30. The only day I am not free is on Wednesday.

Day is up in the air. It depends on 2 things, when the grain actually gets there, and the weather. We need to wait for a no rain day.

I'm available in the afternoon at around 4p or so. Ring me up. Also, I might be in Baton Rouge this weekend. If it takes until like Friday to pick up the grain, I'll probably drive separate and meet up to load the grain.
