Stainless steel nylon lock nuts?

Does anyone know if the lock nuts are food grade or if it even matters. I am sure they would survive a 90 minute boil but I just wanted some opinions.

I wouldn't trust them inside the boil kettle. Though you could do a test and boil a couple in water for a two hours or so and see if the nylon melts out. I think the biggest problem would be them releasing off flavors.
I won't ask why you want to use them in a boil kettle, but if it were me, I would just use standard stainless nuts,

Research shows that there are numerous types of nylon used in the nuts. Unless you can nail down a manufacturer and ask if they used 829LF Nylon 6 (FDA approved food grade), then I'd avoid them.

I will just put 2 nuts instead of one lock nut. Problem solved!
