November 7th - National Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day!

Once again, we will be doing a demonstration brew at Marcello's. All grain, and kit. Marcello's will supply the ingredients (we supply the base grain for the all grain batch), and we will brew on-site.

This is a great opportunity to bring some new folks into brewing.

I'll bring my igloo cooler all grain system, I hope someone can bring a basic extract brewing system along. We can have advanced stuff like therminators, and Rims systems if we want, but we try and demonstrate on equipment that the folks can put together for a couple of hundred bucks max.

Since its November, the beer of the month is Brown and Scotch ales. We should either brew one of those for the all grain, or brew the December beer of the month which is Holiday and spiced beers.

Janets Brown? Pumpkin Ale? Thoughts?

I'd like to bring my system, I have a truck now so I can get it there myself and have the wife get dropped off to drive me home.
I'm hoping to have it all tweaked up by then.
Maybe we can do 3 this year, extract, igloo style all grain, and direct fired mash all grain. I think we could pull it off.

I can bring my old extract gear. And I vote for holiday beer. Maybe an extra chocolate porter. MMM! Yummy.

November 7th is on a Saturday, will this take the place of the regular November meeting? Or will there be a meeting on the 3rd?

I will try to make the event. I have been in the process of moving to a new house, and this has kept me VERY busy.

Glad to hear you found new digs! :D I hope it was a purchase, not a rental. They say if you are going to buy a house in the next fifty years, this is the time.

Hey guys, I still need to nail down some equipment. Does anyone have a couple of carboys we can use? Also, a couple of short water hoses would be helpful (all mine are 75 feet).

Hmmm...holiday beer could be interesting. The smell of the spices always attracts people.

Since this is a basic demonstration, we can decide at the event what we want to make based on what we the average person can get from Marcello's. I've got the base pale malt the club owns, but the specialty stuff we can pick up there. Get some crowd participation. Hows that sound?

I have a 25' and a 6' I can bring. I also have 2 carboys that I am not using now. I would also rather not bring my rusty piece of a BBQ if someone else had one they could bring.
