Love controllers are coming

Postby redtail28 » Fri Jul 17, 2009 12:45 pm

Coming soon to my neighborhood. I'm stepping up I ordered 2/ two stage love control with the probes, one for my brew system and the other for my chest freezer. I'm planning on trying something that I read about. Putting and hemp control on my chest freezer to keep my kegs at serving temp, and using the second stage of the controller to maintain fermentation temps with a carboy heater. I should be able to get a 15 to 20 degree difference between fermentation temps and beer that's ready to drink. That's the plan anyway.

Should be better than that, I would think. With a chest freezer and temp control you should be able to set and keep the temp anywhere from zero F. to 95F. depending on your heat source.
I'm curious why you didn't buy the Auber set-up for your brew stand? They're cheaper, and the temp. probe can't pull out of the thermowell like the love probes do, which gives a false temp. reading.
I know the love controller is necessary for the freezer unit because the Auber PID can't handle that much amperage, but . . .

It came down to convenience one stop shopping. And I wasn't sure that those probes would work with these love controller. To me it's better to get everything from one place that way I know that these part work together and to save from reordering.

Okay, I just thought it would be better to use the Love for the freezer and the Auber for the brew stand. I hope your thermowell doesn't leak.
One stop shopping is convenient, but you end up paying a lot more. I understand Love controllers are in the $65 range now.
All that aside, congratulations! Your brewery is about to enter the 21st century! :D
Let me know how that Asco valve works out. If I need to go hunting for different valves, I'd like to know ASAP.

I was wondering why my wife asked me what
