Sanke keg liquid measurement

Postby thebuddrik » Mon May 11, 2009 5:51 pm

How do you guys measure the liquid in converted kegs? Does anyone have measurements for your fill marks? I tried to do mine this weekend and did it wrong. All of my stuff is out of town so I cant do it again till the weekend.

I use a metal yard stick that can be purchased at any hardware store, and add 1 gallon and mark it and so on till i get to what ever level i want. you can mark it with a vibrating engraving pen or what ever you like for whatever side you using, and use the other side for the hot liquor tank or boil pot.

Put one gallon at a time into your keggle and mark a yardstick or something.
Me I just eyeball it because I usually do 10-12 gallon batches and split it up into two fermenters. It always fits, though a 2 1/2-gallon keg is handy to take what won't fit into two 5-gallon kegs at the end.
