oxygenation & temp

Postby triple-oh_six » Sat Feb 16, 2008 11:01 pm

So I've got a diffusion stone coming in this week. What do I need to get O2 from the tank to the stone. I went to Lowe's and found the bottles but I wasn't sure what type of valve to buy.
I am also looking for a digital thermometer. I spoke w/ a few of you about this at the last meeting but I may have gotten a bit drunk afterwards and forgotten. lol, Anyway I have a weldless thingy: http://www.northernbrewer.com/pics/full ... thingy.jpg
What should I buy and how should I do this where I won't have leakage through the hole where the probe goes.
And sorry to make you guys repeat yourselves but with this hobby the end product may cause short term memory loss.
Prost

Assuming that your talking those little disposable oxygen tanks at lowes, your gonna need one of these: http://morebeer.com/view_product/16606/102281

Either that, or a full fledged regulator that those things normally plug into whem your using them for what they are intended for, but I think the one from morebeer will be much cheaper.

That weldless fitting looks to be a compression fitting. It probably will tighten up enough (not much past hand tightening) that it won't leak. I believe IGOR has used silicone in his as well.

There's nothing cheaper than that? What do you use?
