Dead Yeast Wins at MCAB XI

Postby yeastmeister » Sun Mar 08, 2009 5:29 am

Bobby Don Johnson (Mob Barley), and myself both qualified to enter into the MCAB http://www.masterhomebrewer.org by winning first place in one of the 16 qualifying regional qualifying competitions.

Judging was this weekend.

Bobby won 1st place in Strong Ales for his American Barleywine, and came in 2nd runner up for Best of Show with it.

Yeastmeister won 2nd place in Belgian and French Ales for his Witbier.

Check out the full list of winners here:

Cool! Now we know how you stack up nationally. In May we get to find out if you can win against the local competition. (Just kidding.)

Yeah, kind of crazy I know, but as far as I know, they have always had wooden medals.

I got dinged on points for mouthfeel, that why I got 2nd. So I ordered a sack of unmalted wheat to try and combat that. Thats the traditional way to make a wit anyway.
