All existing and new members need to complete the form and pay Kent at the meetings. Membership includes the use of club's: book and yeast library, equipment, and the private and members recipe forums. The DYS is a non-profit educational organization (501c3) and all donations (including membership) to the club are considered Charitable Donations on your 1040 Federal Tax.

Our club is hosting a BJCP registered homebrew competition (2014 Battaille des Bieres) on February 1 and 8th, 2014. Details can be found on registration website and the forum. Please PM Tatto-mama if you would like to volunteer during the event at the Blue Moon Saloon and / or know anyone that you think would like to donate items to raffle off at the competition. If you would like to judge and / or steward at the competition please register on the registration website, PM jimboud, or let Jim know at the meeting. For those with no judging experiences, stewarding is a great entry into judging beer. You get to listen to and review the judging comments, and normal you can taste the entry. The biggest benefit, a steward does not have to fill out the judging forms.

Other Business
2014 Louisiana Homebrew Club Competition is being hosted by the Redstick Brewmasters on March 8th, 2014. The categories include 4, 10, 13, 14, and 18. The entry deadline is Feb 21, 2014 and the judging and event will be held on March 8, 2014 at Mockler Beverage Co in Baton Rouge, LA (10AM).

Justin presented a power point presentation on how he brewed his chimay white clone. The recipe can be found on the forum

Larry and Steve brought some spent grain bread with some creamed butter. They should post their recipe and how they made the bread because all the breads were very good.
