Club Business
DYS sponsored and hosted the 2013 Louisiana Homebrew Club's Brewing Competition. Details, results, and sponsors can be found on the DYS Forum. We raised $613 (entries and raffle) and spent about $330 (food, supplies, and shipping). Other LA clubs are interested in hosting this event (Redstick Brewmasters and Brasseurs a la Maison) and details can be found on the DYS Forum.

DYS hosted our National Homebrew Day (May 4th) at Marcello's last Saturday. Pretty good turn out with Ray brewing an all-grain Doppelbock on his new RIMS and Steve brewing an all-grain Belgian Blonde in cooler (grains and hops donated by Marcello’s). Great donation of some food and beers. Some of the pictures can be seen on facebook

Gulf Brew is coming up in July (no date announced yet) and the club's involvement can be found on the DYS Forum. We need to start preparing, brewing donations for the event, and volunteers. Anyone that volunteers to setup the DYS booth and serve the clubs donated beer or donates a keg of homebrew gets a free entry to Gulf Brew. We really need as much donations and volunteers as we can get.

Cajun Brewing has some hops to give away but they are big bags of hops (15 or 42 lbs). They need to see which hops are available (Summit was mentioned) and details can be found on the DYS Forum. As a club we should get a consensus on which hop we would like to get from them so they can give us as many hops out of one bag. Cajun Brewing will not be able to store the hops for long periods once the nitrogen sealed bag is opened so they need to give away as much as possible out of the bag.

Is anyone ready for another Club Bulk Grain Buy?
