Gulf Brew 2008 Results!!!

From our perspective, Gulf Brew 2008 was a great success! The event sold out, and during the 5 hours of the event, we poured 95 gallons of beer into 3.5 oz glasses. We did NOT run out!! We still had 4 kegs left over, things that we had multiple kegs of (pale, brown).

Zeke made a wonderful tap wall for our club!

My understanding is that we had the longest lines at the event, some people waiting 45 minutes to get to our booth, even though we had a faster pour rate than the other booths. We had 8 beers on draft throughout the event.

What did we get out of this? Exposure, recognition, and the opportunity to show up the commercial brewers. Several of our beers were being talked about all night. IGOR will post later with the results of the memberships that we collected at the event, and I am sure that we will get more members in the coming months.

Pictures can be found linked on the main website, and here

Here is a sample of our setup:

I was overwhelmed with the response we had, I walked around a few times and we beat everyone there we are the Gulf Brew. Our lines were by all accounts humbling to the professional brewers, nobody could touch us. the Bourbon Barrel Porter was the talk of the crowd. We sold all but 2 of our t shirts we only have 2 med. in stock. we sold 2 memberships but I was so busy I asked people to come to our next meeting to join, Hats off to everyone :D

yeah, casters are a must for next year. I personally think we should also insulate the trough somehow so the ice doesn't melt so fast.
Again, can you sell me the plans for that thing. I could make it up as I go along, but if you have something to start from, that would be better.

If you're referring to the Irish Coffin - sorry the plans are in my head. I started with the faucets and the drip tray and built it from there. You're welcome to come over and take some measurements.

Nah, I was planning to base it on using two four-faucet drip trays anyway. I can't seem to find an eight-holer. Unless we're planning to try for two tables next year, there's no hurry. I would be better off working out an overhead sign to list the beers currently on tap.
