root beer beer not root beerey

Postby Frankenbrew » Fri Mar 16, 2012 9:22 pm

The root beer beer did not taste like root beer at all. I guess the extract is made out of sugar and it was all turned into alcohol. It just taste like a good pillsner beer. It reminds me of amstel light. Vary clear. I guess they'd what a 100% two row barley beer will taste like.

The final gravity was 1.020 not 1.017

You only put 7 table spoons of extract? I see that this was
A 3 gallon batch. When I make root beer I make 5 gallons
And use 3 bottles of extract, brown sugar, white sugar, an vanilla.
And I save my two row for beer.
