Club Business
The DYS club elected officers for 2012 include:

    *President: Gene Nelson
    *Veep: James Lutgring
    *Treasurer: Zeke Bossley
    *Secretary: Jimmie Cox
    *Librarian: Steve Seymour
    *Sgt. at Arms: Julie Nelson

We are starting to plan for a DYS brew day for sometime in February. We are open to a discussion on which Saturday is best for the majority. Suggestions on the date and style to brew should be posted on the forum at DYS Club Brew thread. We will be brew an all-grain and an extract beer. Anyone is welcome to come brew, help brew, grill, and / or brew your own homebrew. There will be some kegs and bottles of homebrew to share with everyone.

The DYS is a non-profit educational organization and all donations (including membership) to the club are considered Charitable Donations on the 1040 Federal Tax.

The 2012 club membership is $25 for individual and $35 for family. The membership form is located on the DYS website. I don't think existing members need to complete the form, just pay dues to Zek, Gene, or Julie at the meetings. Membership includes the use of clubs: book and yeast library, equipment, private and members recipe forums, and bulk grain buys.

On March 31, 2012, DYS will be sponsering and hosting The 2012 Louisiana Homebrew Clubs Brewing Competition at the Cajun Brewing in Lafayette, LA. We are looking for help with staffing, judging, stewarding, and / or cooking. For volunteering more information can be found at The 2012 Louisiana Homebrew Clubs Brewing Competition
