Club Business
During the November and December meetings, the club is taking nominations for elected offices, which will be voted on by the club members attending the January meeting.

The club is taking suggestions on any new club equipment. We will start putting together a list of already club owned equipment.

The DYS is a non-profit educational organization and all donations (including membership) to the club are considered Charitable Donations on the 1040 Federal Tax.

thebuddrik reminded us the club does have a club library, which is available to club members. Alms66 donated a bunch of brewing books to the club library, which will be added to the list of books soon. Additionally, Guitarlord5000 donated the Yeast: The Practical Guide to Beer Fermentation. My personnel favorite books (as of right now) in the club library include: Designing Great Beers, How to Brew, and Yeast: The Practical Guide to Beer Fermentation.

Jimboud discussed some of his experience with judging at the September 24, 2011 - Louisiana Beer Fest | Lake Charles, Louisiana. He mentioned oxidation was the most noted fault in the entries.

Alms66 mentioned he has a lot of aged hops (4 years now) and they are available to any club members. Contact Alms66 for more info.

The December meeting will be held at the Cajun Brewing (206 Rayburn Street, Lafayette, LA) and not at Marcello's. Marcello's gets too busy during the holiday month to let us take up the back room. There is talk of doing a fried turkey again this year and hopefully more food. Any donations and food is welcome and try to organize on the forum.
