Dead Yeast Society places at the Dixie Cup for the second year in a row!
Gene Nelson, the Yeastmeister, won 1st place in the Witbier category .
Dead Yeast Society places at the Palmetto State Brewers Open!
Bobby Johnson won 1st place in the Melomel category and Best of Show in Mead and Cider. He also won an Honorable Mention for his Weizenbock and his American Barleywine won 1st place in the Strong Ale category and a 3rd place Best of Show for beer.
Both Gene and Bobby qualify to send their 1st place entries to the MCAB.
As always, we encourage everyone to enter competitions, not only are the events fun to attend, but entries always get back scoresheets with problems identified, usually with solutions. Its a great way to get feedback to enable you to make better beer!
We are now collecting dues ($25 yr single $35 family per year; pro-rated by month. Membership year is January 1st - December 31st).
